March 2016 Newsletter (Legado Clones, -aira Confusions at Great Park, and OH 1-3 Floorplans)

To wrap up the March 2016 extended newsletter:

1) I looked up the supposed Legado clones in Portola Springs Neighborhood 5A again (non-gated), and there are indeed very slight differences amongst the new floorplans. They aren't very significant (such as turning the powder room's door from the main entry to an alcove at the expense of storage area in Residence 4, or making everything bigger in the Residence 1's master bedroom at the expense of a sitting area), but they do make the residences slightly larger by up to about 100 square feet or so. I did check the Legado models recently, and I liked the Residence 1 (of course, I would only recommend buying it if it was detached, since you don't want to buy of the largest and most expensive attached new homes in Irvine), especially the entry impression outside and the master bathroom (which will sadly not have the coveted sitting area in the new batch of homes).

2) There has been great confusion recently by FivePoints, on the part of naming their new apartment communities. As you know, the only apartment community in Great Park so far is Solaira. New apartment communities, with the proposed names of Luminaira, Espaira, and Luxaira, are being challenged by new names of Vivaira (senior living), Descanso, Somergrove, and Somerfield. Apparently, the Luminaira homes are BRIGHT white (shockingly, even). Hopefully, that doesn't cause too many problems with neighbors...

3) Upon closer introspection, I believe the Shea Homes detached condominiums are actually the units bordering Carmine (then attached became detached).

4) Orchard Hills floorplans:
